  Hi, my name is Erin and I am obsessed with all things wedding!  I joke that my FSIL and I should open up a wedding planning service.  She's like a walking databse for sites and resources.. I am the queen of crafting and all things paper!  I try not to let all the pretty things distract me from remembering that the day is truly about our union and not the coordinating organza overlays on the table that pick up the flecks of gold in my wedding gown or the brooches pinned on my bridesmaids!

  Alright, so I think I've been engaged now for a month.  It actually happened on July 24th... but that was a Tuesday so if you're calling 4 weeks a month, then that was yesterday but the actual "date" is tomorrow.  I've been planning weddings for as long as I can remember, only thing is, when I was planning them (for myself, regardless of who I was getting married to) I never really looked at any costs... not the case now!!  Now, I am faced with a growing number of guests, all on my FI's side since he has 84 family members in his super Italian family, and I have a whopping 4 on my tiny Irish side.  My friends have become my family, so my FMIL and I may find ourselves at odds when I am unwilling to give up "friends" on the GL in order to accomodate great-great-aunts whom I have never met and my FI rarely sees. 

  The day after I got engaged and found out everyone and their mom knew about it I felt flustered with all I had to get done!!  (Full engagement story to come later!!)   I was being asked when and who, and how many, all the while hearing that it will be the most expensive day of my life and it goes by so fast.  It doesn't cause me to back down from having a fantastic, beautiful, wedding... no, it makes it that much better of a challenge.  See, this in itself creates the perfect opportunity for me to spread my wings and really get into something that I love... and I don't look like I'm crazy anymore.  I figure, since I love being crafty, would LOVE to get into the wedding business, and absolutely love everything about graphic design... all those things that drive my FI crazy like which shade of red and purple should i use.. but the bridesmaids' gowns don't come in that shade, etc will be used to my full advantage.  I plan on taking pictures of everything along the way, along with helping a few friends who just got engaged, and creating my portfolio of work to be used following the wedding to get my dream job!!  

  Life is crazy and out of control right now... but oddly set up for what could be a great success in the future!
